| Home | Christa and I met in June of 1999 while
working in a Mexican food restaurant. She had just moved
here from San Angelo, Tx which, ironically enough, was my
hometown as well. We soon found out that we were kind of
in the same boat. I was looking to transfer some of my
poetry into lyrics and notes. She had been a Praise and
Worship leader and written some music of her own. After work we started having late night jam sessions. At first we simply covered our mutual influences, Jennifer Knapp, Sarah McLachlan, Jewel, and a few praise and worship songs. Then, after a few really bad attempts, we wrote some of our own songs and perfected ones that Christa had already written. A few months later, we began playing in churches over the Metroplex for youth groups etc. Then, in April 2000, we recorded our first demo entitled, Missing Pieces. The demo has enabled us to begin playing various gigs across the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. Where we go from here? We'll just wait and see... The Music I was driving in my car one day and the phrase, "distance to here" , kept running through my head. I realized that those words summed up what our music was all about and the questions that I battle with. What is the distance it takes to get there? How many miles must I cross before I gain the necessary understanding? Now, the questions may vary and the destination is different for everyone but, the concept is still the same. |
